About Ardmore House

Ardmore House is within minutes walking distance of Newtown`s cosmopolitan King Street, with its many boutiques, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants.

To reach King Street, you walk across historic Camperdown Memorial Rest Park. Here you will find a walled cemetery and a fine example of an Edmund Blackett church.

In the cemetery, are many interesting gravestones from Australia`s colonial past, including shipwreck victims, and heartbreaking multiple infant deaths from the great plagues that swept the young colony: a walking tour of historical Newtown is easily arranged.

Newtown is well served by public transport with both Bus and Trains to the city and the south running every twenty minutes. A fifteen minute train trip will bring you to Circular Quay, The Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. There is also a direct bus route to Oxford Street, Bondi Junction and Kings Cross.
