Innamincka Regional Reserve offers its visitors a taste of two worlds and great Australian history; a lush watery paradise set against a backdrop of the stark arid outback where you can walk in the footsteps of Australia`s most famous explorers, Burke and Wills. When visitors tire of walking, gum shaded creeks beckon, ideal for a leisurely canoe and boating exploration.

The famous Cooper Creek waterholes are a star attraction.

Innamincka Regional Reserve was the first reserve of its type in Australia to allow multiple use of the reserve for energy production, pastoralism and recreational use. Careful and balanced management of the area is vital to protect the wildlife, archaeology and anthropology values while allowing the important cattle industry and the area`s vital energy reserves to be managed responsibly.
