FOMO PARTY at ARQ

SYDNEY- ARQ will have it’s first FOMO of the New Year on Friday, January the 8th.

For this FOAM PARTY the dancefloor will be transformed into a moshpit of bubbles as hundreds of tasty boys and girls slid around in little more than their underwear. It will be the most fun you can have with your clothes nearly off. Foam is dumped from the ceiling in a huge column, filling the dancefloor and covering most of the people on it within seconds.

If you want to de-bubble for a while: the games room is an oasis of calm... air conditioned and quiet - the perfect place for a breather between diving into the mayhem again.

ARQ advises suitable clothing and strictly no high heels or open-toed footwear in the foam areas.

NO PRE-SALE, tickets at $20 at the door, which will open at 9 pm.

George Michael goes 'outside'

George Michael might be part of Mardi Gras 2010, after it was announced that he will tour Australia next year, and that his original dates were pushed back to co-incide with Mardi Gras. It’s George Michael’s first Aussie tour since 1988, and he’ll only be playing in Sydney, on February 26, and Perth, on February 20.

Promoter Paul Dainty released a statement saying, “It is thrilling to bring George Michael to Australia again, he toured here on the Faith tour in 1988. He is a consummate performer and will deliver a stunning show to his fans who have waited 22 years to see him perform in Australia”.

Michael’s last shows were in 2007 and 2008 for the 25 Live Tour which has just been released on DVD through Sony Music. Sydney and Perth get ready for George Michael's brief appearance - which is sure to be a sellout.

Iconic Gay Sydney store Pops Up once more

When the Pop Shop on Oxford St closed its doors in 2007, many said that this was the nail in the coffin of the once flourishing golden strip.

Good news - the quirly retailer is reborn just around the corner.

Business owners Robert Tait and partner Angelo Doulgeris re-opened their iconic store at a new location on Crown Street, Surry Hills. The couple have a distinctive take on pop culture and their range features unique cards and giftware that is well known to all sectors of the gay, and wider community.

Locals and visitors will love this reincarnation of the old Oxford St institution. Check it out at 330 Crown Street, Surry Hills.

Bruno’s erection unveiled in Sydney

Bruno, AKA Sacha Baron Cohen, lived up to his reputation for making an impact yesterday in Taylor’s Square, Sydney. The fiancé of Australian actress Isla Fisher revealed an impressive "erection" in Taylor Square, Darlinghurst ahead of his arrival for the premiere of his new film, which follows the fictional Austrian fashion commentator.

Workers wearing barely more than hot pants and hot pink hard hats put up a billboard in Taylor Square.

Bruno flies into Sydney next week, and on Monday 29th June the Austrian fashion commentator will spend one day in character promoting his new film. Given Sacha Baron Cohen's past visits, his upcoming visit is eagerly awaited.
