GAY & LESBIAN EVENTS & FESTIVALS

SPRINGOUT
Canberra’s queer pride festival celebrating diversity and is held in October / November each year. SpringOut builds on a long tradition of community celebration in Australia’s capital city. Come enjoy a fun filled, empowering and fabulous time during the SpringOut festival. All of the events in the SpringOut festival are undertaken by individual groups within our community, putting in lots of volunteer effort so we can have fun.

FAIRDAY
Held in october each year, Fairday is Canberra’s queer communities day in the sun, where the everyone comes out to play in the grounds of Westlund House in city. The annual Fairday is a marvellous day out for the whole family so bring your kids and pets. Sunshine, great food, interesting stalls, beautiful people and a relaxed atmosphere — what could be more pleasant than a 'gay' Saturday afternoon in spring?

You’ll find SpringOut Fairday in the grounds of Westlund House, Gordon Street, Acton (near the Film and Sound Archive and opposite the Academy of Science Dome).

CANBERRA GAY BUSHDANCE
November each year at Yarralumla Woolshed 7.30pm – 1.00am. Dust off your hat and polish up your boots. Bushdance is back! Join in the fun of Canberra’s biggest GLBTI event — over 600 dancers, a great band, bbq and bar in a real woolshed. It’s hot, it’s fun and you’ll get to dance with everyone. 

BENTFEST
November to December each year. Bent Lenses is Canberra's very own Queer screen culture group, operated by and for our Community.  Founded in 1999 to redress the paucity of Queer cinema offered in the Capital region.

CUBE NIGHTCLUB
CUBE is Canberra’s Premier Gay and Lesbian Dance Venue. Open Thursday 8.30pm-5.00am. Fridays 9.00pm-5.00am. Saturdays 10.00pm-5.00am. Sundays 10.00pm til late.
